About hypnotherapy
What is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and deep relaxation. Hypnotherapy is the use of that state by a trained practitioner to support change in emotions, habits, and behavior. You remain aware and in control throughout.
What does hypnosis feel like?
People experience it differently. Some feel light or floating, some feel sleepy, and many feel calm and at ease. How a session feels is not a measure of how well it is working.
Will I remember what happened during a session?
Yes. You remember what you experienced during hypnotherapy.
Can I get stuck in hypnosis?
No. You stay in control the whole time. You can speak, move, get a tissue, or stop and leave. If a video call drops, you will eventually notice you can no longer hear the practitioner and open your eyes.
Are hypnotherapists doctors?
Hypnotherapists are trained professionals, not medical doctors. Some doctors also use hypnotherapy as an additional tool. Continuing professional training is part of working in the field.
Safety and Suitability
Is hypnotherapy safe?
It is safe when practiced by a trained professional. Reported effects are usually mild relaxation or emotional release.
Who should not have hypnotherapy?
People with psychosis or epilepsy should only work with a highly qualified professional. If you have a medical condition, speak to your doctor first. Hypnotherapy can complement medical care but does not replace it.
Can hypnotherapy replace my medication?
No. Any change to medication should be made with your doctor or prescriber. Hypnotherapy can support you in managing stress and building emotional resilience alongside your care.
What issues can hypnotherapy help with?
Hypnotherapy can support anxiety and panic, burnout, weight and emotional eating, low self-esteem, and past trauma. I also work with addictions such as smoking or alcohol, alongside my other areas of practice.
Programs and sessions
How many sessions do I need?
Most clients work with the structured five-session program. The first sessions address the root causes of the issue, and the later sessions build lasting strategies for daily life.
Can I start with just one session?
A single session may suit a clearly defined issue, such as a specific phobia, or working with a child. Most challenges, such as anxiety, burnout, or long-standing patterns, need the five-session program. We will discuss whether this fits you during the free discovery call.
Which program is right for me?
It depends on your goals. The five-session program suits most clients who want structured, lasting change in one main area. The Premium Program offers more sessions and ongoing support over six months, so you can create impact across different areas of your life.
How quickly will I feel different?
Every client’s timeline is different. Some notice a shift after the first session, and others see gradual change over weeks. Because the work addresses foundations rather than symptoms alone, the changes are designed to last.
How is the Premium Program different from the five-session program?
The Premium Program offers more sessions, greater flexibility, and ongoing support over six months. It is for clients who want to work on several areas of life and need more space to integrate changes.
Working with Olga
Can I do hypnotherapy online?
Yes. Sessions take place on Zoom from your own home, and the format works as effectively as in person. You can stay in a calm, familiar space throughout.
What happens in the free discovery call?
We talk about your goals, what sits behind the issue you want to address, and whether the five-session program is a good fit. It is an opportunity to decide whether you are ready. The call is free and carries no obligation.
Costs
How much does hypnotherapy cost?
Costs depend on the program you choose. Full pricing is on the pricing page. The discovery call is free.
Can I pay in installments?
Programs are normally paid in full before they begin, which keeps the process simple. If full payment is not possible, we can discuss a two-part payment plan during the discovery call.
Will my insurance cover hypnotherapy?
Standard Dutch health insurance generally does not reimburse hypnotherapy. Some supplementary policies cover complementary care, but they usually reimburse only hypnotherapists who are members of certain Dutch professional associations. The amounts are often small, with per-session and yearly limits, so please check your policy with your insurer before booking.
If you are employed, an employer’s wellbeing budget may cover the cost. If you are self-employed, you can deduct the cost as a business expense when it serves your professional purposes.
